Ralph Kahana

Dr. Kahana was president of BPSI from 1980 to1982, and started "Friends of BPSI" with Molly Schoenberg. In 1960 he was a founding member of the Boston Society for Gerontologic Psychiatry, the first such society in the United States. Through this society, the Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry was started, which he edited for 20 years. He was one of three who won the American Psychoanalytic Association's Weinberg Award for geriatric psychiatry. His current interests are painting with watercolors and oils, particularly portraits of his grandchildren.
